Nowadays, where I get my news would be either through my phone, through my friends, or in my dorm. I receive about half of my news through my phone. I can get this news from my friends, family, or residents. Whatever I don't hear from my phone, I hear in the lobby of my dorm. I am an RA at the Bussey Dorm at Southern Arkansas University. Most of the news that I hear would be in the lobby of this dorm. As part of my job, I work the desk quite often. People will walk by me, and tell me all sorts of things.
For example, a couple of weeks ago, a middle school kid was walking around the fairgrounds with a handgun, and it went off on that Saturday of the fair. People were frightened, and I was made aware of the circumstance while sitting at the desk. Someone came from the fair and told me about it. I hear gossip, news, politics, pop culture, and all about people's lives while sitting at the desk at Bussey. For me, as well as many other Bussey residents, this dorm is my listenining post.
