Carlin Whaley's Blog Critique
Before I get into the overall critique, I would love to say that I really enjoy Carlin's creativity and her writing style. So with that being said, overall her blog is well done. She is great at writing and provides lots of detail, without going overboard. Through her posts, she shows off her reporting skills. The only complaint (very small) that I have about her blog would be her background. I wish that her background had a more unique look. I can't be too harsh about this though, because I do love this background, and even had it as my first one. My only wish is that she would upgrade it to a more unique look.
Her blog is extremely easy to navigate, and I love the overall organization. To add on to the praise of her organization, I would like to say that her different posts are overall very aesthetically pleasing with each photo in the thumbnail on the left of each numbered post. It is very organized and well kept. I enjoy reading each of her posts. 1 example of a post that I enjoyed reading was: her public records (state, national, or international)- I like how well detailed it was and thoroughly described Mary Crain's lawsuit about her emotional trauma that occurred at the elite training program. I do wish that she had provided links on each blog post underneath her title photo of where she got her information from. My last comment would be - this is very nitpicky- but I do wish that she had a cover photo for her #3- News Leads with Twitter Links. I also wish that she had a bio with a photo and a description of who she is. I feel as if I am having to be "nitpicky", because her blog is very well written and organized.
My main critique is I want to have more Carlin on this website. I know who she is through her writing styles on individual blog posts, but not from just looking at the website itself. Like I mentioned before, at this point, I am being quite nitpicky because overall her blog is well done with lots of research and time spent on it. I enjoy reading everything that she posts and writes about. I am always looking forward to Mr. Reppert saying Carlin's name and showing her website. I really love to read and see her updates. Overall, Good job to Carlin! I look forward to seeing more from you in this class and maybe future classes that we possibly take together.
